Vienna Goes On brings together two piano sonatas written in Vienna more than two centuries apart: Mozart’s Sonata in C minor, K. 457, and Ulrich Lehensteiner’s Sonata in B minor. Rather than presenting past and present as opposites, the programme explores the sonata as a living form—one that continues to evolve through new musical ideas and contemporary expression, even today.
